When you get a tattoo, it is very important that the artist inks the design correctly on your body, as it usually stays there forever.

From misspelled baby names to mistranslated Chinese proverbs – the stories of dodgy tattoos are endless.

And this woman’s back tattoo with an unfortunate boner now has a high place on the list of infamous jobs.

Eagle-eyed Twitter users spotted the mistake after a snap of the anonymous woman was posted to the account @NoContextBrits.

As she stood in the middle of a crowd wearing a white dress adorned with a pattern of roses, the woman’s upper back was exposed for all to see.

Inked on her behind is what looks like an intricately designed compass tattoo that used to sit on the middle of her back.

Although the compass part of the body art was drawn beautifully, the big inking had a pretty big mistake.

Never eat shredded wheat, do you? One of the easy ways to remember the four directions…

Well, it looks like someone missed that class at school because the tattoo artist mixed up the letters.

Starting with ‘N’ correctly, the artist had inked the letter ‘W’ instead of ‘E’ at the east point and vice versa.

At least they went south too… but we wouldn’t want to follow her if we got lost!

Once spotted, the misdirection case was hard to miss as many Twitter users filled the comments with laughter.

One person commented, “If you look at it from the front, it works.”

Another user blasted, “When two idiots get their hands on a tattoo needle.”

While a third expressed, “What an epic tattoo fail!”

Someone else chuckled, “It was meant for front-facing people.”

Meanwhile, a fifth person laughed, “When she looks in the mirror, it’s true…what’s the matter.”
