Long and lean, Adam Levine spills tea on his body art • Instinct Magazine

Over the years, Bordeaux 5 lead singer Adam levine has accumulated a whole collection of tattoos. It was very evident at the Super Bowl Pepsi 2019 Halftime Show, when Levine went shirtless in the controversial live performance. Levine, who is an ally of LGBTQ community and also has a brother who is gay – showed off a lean (shirtless) body while rocking low black pants which revealed how inky the California native really is. We take a look at the expressive body art of some singers and hear the meaning behind some of them, straight from Levine’s mouth.
Dove – left biceps
Levine said People magazine in an interview for its 2013 cover issue of The Sexiest Man Alive The Dove was his very first tattoo:
“It was my first tattoo, I was 21. It was five days after September 11. I felt the need to say something with this peaceful thing on my body ”.
Pearl necklace – neck / chest
“I don’t think you necessarily have to assign a meaning to every tattoo.”
Los Angeles, CA – straight biceps, stomach
The two are perhaps a nod to the fact that Levine was born and raised in Los Angeles, California.
“A simple case of love in the hometown. Few people were born and raised in LA. I must wear this badge of pride ”.
Eagle – rib cage
“Tattoos end up being this weird roadmap or story over the years. They always remind me of that long, strange and awesome journey that life has been.
Mermaid – tattoo on the back
No deep explanation on this back mural, but the art can be left for the viewer to interpret. The mermaid tattoo features angel wings, a skull, a lost ship, and crashing waves. The piece took the artist Bryan randolph six months to create.
Levine told People tattoos on his hands and below the waist are prohibited. He believed they were sacred. But he’s clearly changed his mind since then, as he added the words “TRUE LOVE” to his fingers and images of ocean waves to his left leg.
There just isn’t enough time in a day to go over the many other tattoos Levine has on his body. But an often shirtless Adam makes it easier for us “art connoisseurs” to glimpse his significant ink. I still haven’t decided if tattoos are a good choice, or if they just look a lot nicer on Adam’s long, slender, chiseled body. I mean, that certainly doesn’t take anything away from this art.
Which of Adam Levine’s tattoos would you consider your favorite?
