Deck the Showground for the Naracoorte Christmas Contest | Herald of Naracoorte
Carter’s Naracoorte Foodland’s annual Christmas pageant and street party kicks off on Friday, December 3, so invite the family to have a good time seeing during the silly season.
Brett Rumball, president of the Naracoorte Business and Tourism Association, said: “This is an event that kids look forward to, and more so this year, following COVID-19 restrictions, people want to get out and about.”
There is a change of venue due to COVID security this year, so meet at the Naracoorte Fairgrounds from 5 p.m. to see the contest at 6 p.m., and stay for the after-party from 7 p.m.
“We have a bar this year that we don’t normally have, and a bit of wine tasting too, but it’s still a family atmosphere,” Mr. Rumball said.
Come and have fun, there is something for the whole family.
Sitting with Santa is banned due to health restrictions, but the team behind the competition has come up with an innovative neon display in front of which families can take photos.
There will be a bouncy castle, balloon art, circus performers, glitter and body art, music for kids and a market.
Admission is free – no reservations need to be made – and there will be an array of stalls selling all kinds of food and drink, including fish and chips, jam donuts, and steak.
“We’ve booked quite a few tanks, but the more the merrier,” said Rumball. E-mail [email protected] to reserve yours. There will be prizes for the best children’s floats, communities and businesses.
“Come and have fun, there is plenty for the whole family to do,” Mr. Rumball said.
