Car problem at Disney California Adventure? The popular merry-go-round breaks down – Inside the Magic
Disneyland Resort is known as the happiest place on Earth. Unfortunately, sometimes things can happen that make things less happy. Guests visiting Disney California Adventure today experienced such an event when they got stuck on the popular Radiator Springs Racers attraction, located in Cars Land.
Facebook user Michelle M. shared photos of guests stuck on the ride as two of the cars turned the turn, which isn’t exactly the most comfortable position.
Michelle said she and her family had just got off the ride and were walking along the path when they saw the cars stuck on the track. The ride broke down around 2:20 PM PT and was still listed as “Temporarily Closed” at 3:00 PM.
Radiator Springs Racers opened on June 15, 2012, along with the entire Cars Land area. The ride has remained extremely popular since then, with guests frequently waiting over two hours to race with fellow Disney fans. To help with the long wait, the attraction has a Single Rider line and normally offers FASTPASS / MaxPass, although this offer is on hold for now.
Disneyland website describes Radiator Springs Racers on its website:
Boost the fun as you strap yourself in for a road race featuring familiar car actors, fantastic scenery and thrills at the wheel.
Visit Ornament Valley and arrive at Radiator Springs, the cutest little town in Carburetor County, where the movie Cars comes to life.
As you prepare for the big race, all of the locals show up to help you. Mater, Lightning McQueen, Doc Hudson, Sally, Luigi, Guido, Mack and Ramone are all supporting you!
Take a quick tour of Luigi’s Casa Della Tires or Ramone’s House of Body Art for a racing makeover, then hit the road.
Ready, ready, go!
Meet your friendly competition at the start line and get ready to race for the top spot! Cross hills, zoom around steeply sloping bends, and descend directly on a camel ride past dramatic red rock formations.
Even if your car comes in second, it’s a race where everyone is a winner!
By the time the Radiator Springs Racers closed, Luigi’s Rollickin ‘Roadsters were also out of order. The two attractions are located next to each other in Cars Land. However, it is not known if the closures are related to each other. A recent power outage on July 4 caused several rides to close for about an hour over the holiday weekend.
